Lessons 5-8

Students viewed and discussed Martha Graham’s masterwork, Clytemnestra, which gave historical context for using mythology as a source for choreography. In collaborative groups, students analyzed the written Greek myth, The Journey of Ré that transpires over the course of 12 hours. Each group was given one of the twelve hours to summarize and interpret. Students identified key words and phrases for their assigned hour and designed choreography to embody those ideas.
