Lessons 8-12

Each class chose which fairy tale and which primary scene to focus on. For Cinderella, students worked on the ballroom scene. In Beauty & the Beast, students portrayed the villagers storming the castle.

Students created signature gestures to form character motifs. They established the location of the scene and then choreographed an encounter.

Some students animated objects from the relevant scenes.

Students applied choreographic devices such as repetition, tempo, rhythm, and spatial formations to their adaptions of fairy tales into dances.

They performed their work in a final showing with music, lights, and costumes. They transformed their cafeteria into a stage.
